Social Action Center – Caritas Tabuk holds Inter-Agency Consultation and Meeting on the Implementation of the Green Luzon Project

A consultation and meeting was held on June 21, 2023 at the Pastoral Center in Bulanao, Tabuk City, Kalinga to discuss the implementation of the Green Luzon Project. The project, which is entitled “Building Sustainable Indigenous Communities of Participatory Governance, Promoting Agrarian Development and Environmental Management in North Luzon,” is a four-year project that will run from 2023 to 2026.

The meeting was attended by representatives from the different government agencies (both city and province) who are partners in the project implementation, as well as the Barangay Councils of Amlao, Balawag, and Suyang and representatives of the different civil society organizations (CSOs) in the area. Representatives of the city mayor and the provincial governor were also present to reiterate their full support of the project.

The meeting discussed the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) that will be signed between the different agencies and the three barangays. The MOU was finalized and will be signed next week after some suggestions were integrated.
In the afternoon, the Participatory Development and Review Approach (PDRA) and the CSO Tool were initially presented to the participants.

The consultation and meeting was productive event that helped to ensure the smooth implementation of the Green Luzon Project. The project is expected to have a significant positive impact on the sustainable development of indigenous communities in North Luzon.
